About Our Temple

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was established about 80 years ago by Tamil People who lived in the estates of Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, and Bagan Datoh. Those who worked in the estates, faced with the challenges of the environment, sought solace in establishing Mariamman as their guardian deity. In the initial days, a small shrine was erected in a resedential area, and the devotees worshipped Goddess Mariamman with fervor. Later, with the efforts of the temple administrators and the support of the devotees, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was officially constructed under the guidance of the temple authorities. Presently, regular and elaborate worship ceremonies take place, making the temple a focal point for spiritual activities in the community.
