About Our Temple
Founded in 1910, this temple originally stood on Jalan Labu beneath a Peepal (Arasamaram) tree. The temple's inception can be attributed to Mr. Muthukumara, who frequently perceived a newborn elephant in the bush passing through a peepal tree. Inspired by these occurrences, he placed a statue of God Pillayar beneath the peepal tree. Subsequently, a local woman named Mayi from Ladang Kepayang began worshipping the Pillayar God daily. With the help of the community, a small temple was constructed beneath the peepal tree after Mayi had a dream about the Goddess Mariamman. Over time, visits to this shrine have increased among the Ladang Kepayang locals, leading to a growing congregation of worshippers. The temple's management was initially overseen by residents of the two areas after the establishment of Kampung Mohamad Said in the Ladang Kepayang area. During this period, the temple was funded through contributions from individual volunteers and public donations. After years of effort, committee members and locals successfully secured government reserve property. Subsequently, a new temple structure was erected, and in 2012, a grand inaugural Kumbhabishegam celebration marked its completion.
