About Our Temple
Established in the 1970s through the collaborative efforts of the Indian and Chinese communities, this temple spans approximately 1 acre of land. Construction of a new building commenced in 2015 and was successfully completed in 2020. Serving as a place of worship for Indians and nearby communities in residential areas such as Simpang Kerayong Jasin, Sendera, and Chin Chin, the temple stands out for its unique amalgamation of Malaysian Hindu and Chinese cultural beliefs. Visitors of Hindu faith come to worship deities Madurai Veeran and Sri Maha Karumariyamman, while members of the Chinese community pay homage to Tua Bek Kong, a significant deity in Singapore-Malaysia Taoism originating from Penang. All these deities are housed separately within the same structure. Other revered deities in the temple include Shri Kashi Vishwanath, Ganesha, Murugan, and Navagraha. Referred to as the 'Chindian Temple' due to the joint worship practices of these two communities, an annual festival is celebrated by both groups, typically in the first week of July. The temple management has future plans to establish a multipurpose hall on the premises.
