About Our Temple
In 1896, Mr. Visvanatha Muthaliar initiated the establishment of the Sri Kanthasamy temple. Initially, the temple was constructed as a simple shed made of coconut leaves, with a spear (Vel) placed inside. In 1907, Mr. Subramaniam, along with devotees, successfully built the temple, conducting its first kumbabhisegam. The temple's administration has been effectively managed, leading to the formation of a Hindu Youth Association. Through this association, various community-oriented projects have been undertaken, including the establishment of a Tamil school and a functional library within the same premises. In 1950, the temple took the initiative to restore the Hindu cemetery in Kuala Pilah, which remains in use to this day. Subsequent leaders and administrators exerted great effort to erect and consecrate a statue of Arumugasamy. A comprehensive renovation of the temple was carried out in 1998. The temple is officially registered, and all poojas have been consistently conducted with proficiency up to the present time.
