About Our Temple
Established in 1914 as a modest religious site, the Sri Sundara Vinayagar Temple has a century-long history. Founded by Mr. Karuppan Chettiar, a Tamil Nadu priest engaged in business activities in Malaysia, the temple underwent significant development over the years. In 1951, a two-acre plot of land was acquired, leading to a comprehensive renovation that included the installation of 32 Vinayagar statues and the construction of three-story gopurams. The grand Maha Kumbabhishekam ceremony took place on March 31, 2002. Officially registered under ROS, the temple saw a remarkable 20-foot-high decorated car parade sponsored by Mr. Diwalar Govindaswamy. The annual Avani festival is celebrated with enthusiasm, featuring a vibrant procession of Lord Ganesha during Thiruvila. The temple marked its second Kumbabhishekam on April 13, 2014, solidifying its enduring legacy.
