About Our Temple
In 1937, the Athieswaran Temple was established under the leadership of Dr. A. Viswalingam. The land for the temple was acquired with the approval of the Selangor government, and the foundation stone was laid in the same year. The temple, along with all its assets, is managed by trustees, free from government intervention. Idols of Shiva Lingam, Nataraja, Vinayagar, and Subramanian were brought from India. Construction of the temple was completed in 1947, and the inaugural Kumbabhishekam took place on August 13, 1947. Initially, due to space constraints, all the idols were placed in the same sannathi. However, later on, the Navagraham was separated from the other idols. In 1978, the temple trustees collaborated to construct individual sannathis for all the deities. Subsequently, the temple was divided into two parts, the northern and southern sections of Athieswaran. In the northern direction, separate sannathis were erected for Atheeswari Ambigai, Nataraja Sivagami Ambigai, Manikkavasagar, and Bala Murugan, while Vinayaka found a dedicated sannathi in the south. The second Kumbabhishekam for this temple took place in 1986, and the temple's aesthetic is enhanced by its impressive Raja Gopuram.
