About Our Temple
Around 100 years ago, the people living in the plantation areas established the Maha Mariamman Temple. These people, seeking protection from diseases and wild animals, worshiped Sri Maha Mariamman as their protective deity in their residential areas. In the early days, they offered prayers by placing a small trident (Soolam) in a small hut. After the 1940s, the temple administration built a small Sri Maha Mariamman temple and performed the first Kumbhabishekam (consecration ceremony). The current temple administration has completely renovated and restored the temple. With the help of the temple administration, devotees, and kind-hearted individuals, a new temple was constructed, and the Kumbhabishekam was performed with great devotion. The temple is now officially registered and is functioning smoothly, continuing to serve the community.
