About Our Temple

In the 1910s, the Tamils undertook the clearance of forests and established rubber plantations in the Seremban region, specifically within the Tampin Senawang plantation area. During this period, Mr. Veerappan Kangani and Mr. Arumugam, who were engaged in hunting in the forest, revered Lord Muneeswaran as their guardian deity. They erected a small temple using stone and wood, placing the statue of Lord Muneeswarar within its confines. Rituals involving the sacrifice of hunted animals were also conducted in honor of Lord Muneeswarar. In 1972, a young man named Mr. Porveeran asserted that Lord Muneeswarar had descended into his body. Subsequently, the temple became a site for oracle reading (Arul Vaaku) activities, believed to address and alleviate the problems faced by the local community. In 1980, the plantation was sold as part of the Urban Development Project. The temple administration at the time made strenuous efforts to secure land for the temple, leading to the merger of the adjacent Mariamman temple. A Shivan statue was installed, and the temple underwent a transformation into Sri Raja Rajeswarar. Later, concerted efforts by the temple management and nearby hospital workers led to the renovation of the temple. In 2001, the temple was adorned with a 13-foot-tall Sivalingam statue crafted from black stones (karungal), marking the culmination of a grand Kumbaabhisegam ceremony. A hall was added to the temple in 2019. The temple has since been officially registered, and regular pooja ceremonies are conducted with meticulous care.
