About Our Temple

A century ago, the Tamil residents of Kamaladevi's estate erected a temple dedicated to Maha Karumariamman, whom they regarded as their protective deity. Initially, they constructed a small temple using wooden planks for worship rituals. However, due to city development plans, the government later requested the relocation of the temple. Through the persistent efforts of the temple administration and its director, Mr. Sudhakaran, they appealed to the government to allocate a special location for the temple. Despite facing objections, the government eventually granted half an acre of land for the Karumariamman temple. A small temple was constructed and registered, attracting visitors who come to offer prayers. Plans are in place to construct a larger temple on government-reserved land in the near future.
