About Our Temple
Approximately 150 years ago, the British government transported Tamils from India to the Blue Valley Estate in Cameron Highlands to serve as tea workers. These Tamils, responsible for clearing forests and establishing tea plantations, revered Lord Muneeswaran, Lord Aiyya, Goddess Mariamman, and Lord Murugan as the protective deities of their region. In the 1930s, Mr. Veerapan Kangani placed the area with a trident, lit lamps, and worshiped Lord Muneeswaran as the guardian deity alongside the local residents. In 1980, the tea farm underwent a change in ownership. The Tamils, in response, established a temple in their residential areas. The NLFCS administration acquired the farm in the 1980s and played a role in constructing a modest temple. However, in 1986, the farm was sold once again, prompting the administration to request the relocation of the temple to another site. Consequently, the temple was moved to its current location. Through the concerted efforts of the temple management and the support of devotees, the present temple was completed in 2022, culminating in a successful Kumbabhishekam ceremony. The temple is now officially registered, and all religious ceremonies (poojas) are being conducted seamlessly.
