About Our Temple
In 1920, the Tamil community residing in the Tanah Rata tea plantations in Cameron Highlands practiced the worship of Murugan with spear (Vel). Additionally, within the farm's interior, Goddess Mariamman and Lord Muneeswaran were revered as guardian deities. As time passed, and the estate underwent dissolution and sale, the Tamils who were employed on the estate relocated to urban areas. In subsequent years, the estate administration requested the temple administration to relocate the temples situated on the estate. Consequently, in the 1960s, the Murugan, Mariamman, and Muneeswaran temples from the estate were entirely moved to an urban area. Private land was acquired for the temple after formal approval from the government. In 1985, personnel from the JKR, along with doctors and public works employees, collaborated to construct a Sri Subramanian temple, commencing its guidance. During this period, Mr. Kumaran played a significant role in contributing to the construction and development of the new temple. At present, the Mariamman temple and Subramaniyar temple coexist in the same location, functioning under a unified registry. The temple is now officially registered, ensuring that all religious ceremonies (pujas) and celebrations are conducted seamlessly.
